The
United States Department of Labor has reported that a severe shortage
of teachers currently exists and will continue
to grow over the next five years. Current projections indicate
that retirement of in-service teachers coupled with the inability
of colleges and universities to produce enough teachers to fill
the vacancies will create a deficit of more than 250,000 teachers
by 2005.
With
this statistic in mind PresNet has created a placement service
for international teachers who would like to teach in U.S. public
and private elementary and secondary schools. The organization
will match teachers with positions listed by school districts
throughout the U.S. PresNet's Affiliate Offices located throughout
the World will be used to aid prospective teachers with the preparation
of papers necessary for a job application. Interviews with American
schools will be conducted via telephone conference call.
